Virtual Therapy Services
Embodied Therapy Mental Health Counseling Services PLLC provides psychotherapy services through secure telehealth platforms. Telehealth allows clients to participate in therapy sessions remotely using video technology.
By participating in telehealth services, you acknowledge and understand the following:
Benefits of Telehealth
Telehealth offers convenient access to therapy from the comfort of your home or other private location. It may reduce travel time, increase scheduling flexibility, and improve access to mental health care.
Potential Risks
As with any technology, telehealth services carry certain risks, including interruptions in internet service, technical difficulties, unauthorized access, or limitations related to the virtual format.
While reasonable precautions are taken to protect confidentiality, no electronic communication system can guarantee complete security.
Confidentiality
All telehealth sessions are conducted through secure platforms designed to protect client privacy. Confidentiality standards remain the same as they would for in-person therapy sessions and are subject to applicable federal and New York State laws.
Clients are encouraged to participate in sessions from a private location where they feel comfortable speaking openly and where conversations cannot be overheard by others.
Emergencies
Telehealth services are not appropriate for crisis situations or medical emergencies.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, are in immediate danger, or require urgent assistance, call 911, contact your local emergency services, or go to the nearest emergency room.
Technology Requirements
Clients are responsible for maintaining access to a reliable internet connection and a device capable of supporting video sessions.
If technical difficulties occur during a session, reasonable efforts will be made to reconnect or continue the session through an alternative agreed-upon method.
Questions
If you have questions regarding telehealth services, please discuss them with your therapist before beginning treatment.
