Boundaries & Relationship Therapy in New York
You understand your patterns. You just can't seem to stop repeating them.
Our relationships often reflect the ways we learned to seek safety, connection, and belonging. Experiences such as trauma, chronic stress, inconsistent caregiving, or emotionally invalidating relationships can impact how we communicate, trust others, navigate conflict, and relate to ourselves within relationships.
You may find yourself deeply self aware yet still stuck in patterns that leave you feeling anxious, disconnected, emotionally overwhelmed, or unsure of your needs. Many people struggle to balance closeness and independence, communicate boundaries, or feel fully present and secure in relationships, even when they genuinely want to.

-
Yes. People pleasing is one of the most common reasons clients seek boundaries therapy. I help you understand where the pattern began, notice it in the moment, and respond in ways that honor your needs without losing the relationships that matter to you.
-
Boundary setting therapy helps you identify your limits, communicate them clearly, and hold them with less guilt or fear. With a somatic, trauma informed approach, the work includes your body's signals as well as your words, so boundaries feel sustainable rather than forced.
-
It might, at first. Some people are used to the version of you who always says yes. In therapy, I help you prepare for pushback, stay steady through the discomfort, and recognize which relationships can grow with your boundaries.
